The Rocky Mountaineer train departs from downtown Calgary to Vancouver, via Banff during the spring, summer and autumn months.
Alberta receives more hours of sunshine yearly than any other province in Canada and Calgary is no exception to this provincial average with low precipitation and blue skies on most days.
When staying in Calgary a tour to the Town of Drumheller in Dinosaur Valley is a must as is a native tour to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Remember too, the "greatest outdoor show on earth", the Calgary Stampede held at the beginning of every July. Events include the Rodeo, Chuckwagon Races, Grandstand Show and more. Please note that Calgary accommodation is limited during the Stampede so remember to book early with Rocky Mountain Holidays!
