Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located about 20 minutes drive out of the town of Golden in the province of British Columbia. It is situated on the eastern slopes of the Purcell Mountain Range in the region known as Kicking Horse Country. This ideal situation allows the resort to receive light, dry snow know as "Champagne Powder" in the winter time and offers 1,260 m (4,134 ft) of vertical.
In the summer time, Kicking Horse is an ideal place for outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, golfing and more! At the top of the Gondola is the Eagle's Eye Restaurant, open year-round, located at 2,347m (7,700 ft). At the top of the gondola you will also find the largest Grizzly Bear reserve in the world and it is the home to Boo, the rescued Grizzly Bear.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is surrounded by six national parks: Yoho, Kootenay, Glacier and Mt. Revelstoke, Jasper and Banff and so can be a great add-on to any of our Rocky Mountain Holiday itineraries.
