Rocky Mountaineer Tax Information

The Province of British Columbia, Canada, introduced a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) on goods and services in 2010. This tax merged federal (GST) and provincial taxes (PST) into one single amount: the HST. HST applies to all Rocky Mountaineer bookings.
There is approximately 10-12% tax applied to Rocky Mountaineer packages including: Whistler Sea to Sky Climb, cruise and VIA Rail component bookings. However, if you are a non-resident of Canada, you do not have to pay the full tax and we can claim the tax rebate of up to 50% on your behalf.
UPDATE: The residents of BC voted against HST in a Referendum which means that tax on Rocky Mountaineer packages will be lowered to just 5% before an international non-Canadian resident tax rebate. This will not take effect until sometime in 2013. We will keep you posted.
