Self-Drive Holidays

Self-Drive Holidays in Canada

Experience the freedom of the open roads! Our self-drive holidays are an independent way to see the magnificent scenery, fauna and flora Canada has to offer. The best thing of all is that it is at your own pace.

We plan your itinerary and book your hotels so you can rest easy knowing that everything will flow smoothly. We make sure the timing between each resort or city is realistic so there is never any time pressure.

We have complex itineraries from Calgary to Vancouver or in reverse, with everything in between, as well as relaxed paced itineraries. We can also include the Rocky Mountaineer train and cruises to Alaska as part of your self-drive holiday in Western Canada. Check out the Rocky Mountaineer Rail and Self-Drive Packages for 2014.

Hotels during the peak season (May to September) are usually booked up so pre-booking everything in advance is the stress-free and most cost-effective option.

GyPSy Guide - Self-Guided Tour

The GyPSy Guide is a small GPS device (PDA) that rides along with you through Western Canada in your car or motorhome and plays commentary through the stereo. It uses satellites to know where you are and where you are going. As you drive through an area of interest, the GyPSy Guide AUTOMATICALLY plays an audio specific to that location. It is like having your very own local guide in your vehicle!

Like our guided group and private tours in Canada, you will hear an entertaining mix of interesting stories, facts and figures, history, geography, directions and Canadian facts, all recorded by professional tour guides. The GyPSy Guide makes the most of your Rocky Mountain self-drive holiday by making sure you don't miss a thing!

With most of our self-drive itineraries, you can collect your GyPSy Guide from Calgary, Vancouver or Edmonton airports and you are able to drop it off at many of the downtown locations. When you book your self-drive package through us with the GyPSy Guide included, you will not be charged a one-way drop-off fee for the GyPSy Guide.
